Equity Derivatives Quantitative Analyst - Hedge Fund - Miami, FL
A prestigious global hedge fund is actively recruiting experienced Equity Derivatives Quant Analysts to join a new team in their recently opened Miami office. This role offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to become a vital part of a dynamic team responsible for creating, implementing, and managing their cutting-edge platform. This platform will offer real-time evaluations, risk assessments, and P&L analyses across all Equity products, including both listed instruments and exotics. Working for a personable and energetic Manager, this position presents a significant opportunity for career growth on a high-profile project and would be the perfect opportunity for an experienced sell-side Quant or Strat to transition into a Hedge Fund environment. The hiring manager has an open headcount to hire four Quant Analysts and is looking to have the team fully staffed as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of a top-tier Equity Valuations, Risk, and PnL platform, with a particular emphasis on pricing models for Equity Derivatives products, including volatility surface fitting and associated Risks / PnL breakdown.
- Sustain and support the existing systems to consistently provide firm-wide risk and P&L assessments.
- Evaluate the suitability and quality of model calibration for pricing and PnL objectives, and develop systematic checks to authenticate vital model inputs used for pricing and risk management.
- Foster collaboration with Technology, Middle Office, Trading, and other Quant teams.
- Communicate pricing models and findings to high-level stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- An advanced degree or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Demonstrable expertise in implementing derivatives pricing models and risks, including Local Volatility, Bergomi models, and Volatility Surface fitting methods. Ideally your experience will be in equity derivatives, but cross-asset candidates will be considered.
- Proficient in Python and an object-oriented programming language (Strong preference for C++).
- An eye for detail with a strong sense of work ownership and a mindset of urgency.
