Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer | Elite Hedge Fund | Boston, MA
One of the world's most elite Hedge Funds is known for generating more revenue per head on their lean teams than almost any other firm in the industry. They have a rare opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a newly formed cloud infrastructure team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead modernization efforts across a hybrid cloud environment, and directly support their business-critical trading infrastructure.
Their 24x7x365 trading infrastructure consists of almost 2,000 Windows Server/Linux Systems in the private/public cloud. This new team is tasked with designing and implementing new solutions from scratch to proactively address storage, monitoring platforms, database operations, and application issues. You will be asked to design and implement cutting edge solutions to anticipate performance, security, and stability issues going forward.

- Leverage automation to create forward-thinking solutions which prioritize proactive problem solving, and minimize the team's reliance on reactive, inefficient solutions
- Support multiple environments and teams, solve business critical issues, and act as a thought leader on cloud transformations and automation
Qualifications:
- BS or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of experience supporting a 24x7 environment as a Systems Engineer
- Expertise automating major portions of day-to-day responsibilities with Powershell, Bash, or Javascript
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Servers
- Hands-on experience with Azure. (certifications are a plus!)
- Experience with VMware (vRealize or ESX server experience a plus!)
- Understanding of storage products and architectures (EMC or NetApp experience is a plus!)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a good measure of ingenuity
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner
