As a Senior Audit Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the internal audit function within our clients Frankfurt office. This key role involves overseeing audit processes, assessing risk management practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with senior management and various business units to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services that add value and improve the firm's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Leadership: Plan, execute, and oversee comprehensive internal audit programs focused on the firm's asset management operations, ensuring alignment with global audit standards and best practices.
- Team Management: Lead a team of auditors, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring continuous professional development to maintain a high-performing audit team.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments related to asset management activities, including portfolio management, investment operations, and client services, to identify potential areas of concern.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all audit activities comply with relevant regulations, including those from BaFin, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and other local and international regulatory bodies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, external auditors, and regulatory authorities, to foster a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare and present audit reports with actionable recommendations to the Audit Committee and senior management, highlighting key findings and areas for improvement.
- Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor on risk management, internal controls, and governance processes, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Audit Planning: Develop and maintain a risk-based audit plan that addresses the key risks facing the firm's asset management operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA, CFA, or CPA are highly desirable.
- Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in internal auditing, with significant experience in the asset management industry or financial services. A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role is required.
- Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of asset management, investment strategies, and the regulatory environment in Germany and the EU. Strong knowledge of auditing standards and risk management practices.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to various stakeholders. Proficiency in German is strongly preferred.
