I am currently partnering with a PM team at a leading Commodity Trading firm in the Houston, TX area focusing within the Natural Gas space that is looking to be able to further expand their pod. They are looking to take on a Quantitative Researcher to work directly alongside the PM and other researchers within the group working on the development and implementation of pricing models, conducting market and signal research, development of analytical trading tools, and generating insights as to drive decision-making and strategy development across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement advanced quantitative models and algorithms to analyze Natural Gas markets, including price movements, volatility, and correlations.
- Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for analysis.
- Collaborate with PM, researchers, and traders to develop signals and refine trading strategies and investment decisions based on quantitative insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in quantitative research or analysis within the Natural Gas space
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data visualization.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of market fundamentals within Natural Gas
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
