The Investment Analyst will be working side by side with members of the transactions team in their Washington, DC office in assessing new investment opportunities in order to determine their qualification for the firms fund portfolios. The Investment Analyst will also be involved in the implementation and oversight of various asset level investment strategies.
The Investment Analyst will be responsible for:
Investment Assessment
- Assessing new real estate investment opportunities and risk factors. Through analysis such as IRR, discounted cash flow, as well as cash flow waterfall analysis.
- Traveling to various properties to conduct inspections on-site.
- Participating with the due diligence process, which includes tenant credit analysis, creating detailed lease outlines, third party report reviews, market analysis, competitive positioning, and reviews for lease and loan documents.
- Assisting and preparing of the Investment Committee Memoranda, which includes participation in the presentations.
Asset Management
- Interacting with various joint venture partners, property managers and leasing agents to increase asset performance in order to maximize the value and cash flow performance of each investment.
- Traveling to various properties to conduct inspections on-site.
- Assisting and managing all aspects of asset operations that are led by local partners, participate in the design process for redevelopment, and diving into new development projects.
- Holding responsibility in reviewing and managing operating budgets.
- Assisting in creating annual business plans and providing recommendations to the investment committee of ASB.
- Looking over joint-venture partnerships, management, and loan documents.
The Investment Analyst should have the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree required
- A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in either Real Estate Investment Management, Investment Banking, or Consulting.
- An active working knowledge of the principals of asset valuation, the process of investment acquisition, and asset management is preferred
