Analyst - Global Commodity House
Global Commodity house, with international trading. It is one of the top 10 Palm Oil firms. Trading business is involved in global procurement and distribution of including but not limited to palm oil, cement, coal and rice.
This role will work on a regional basis, have exposure to senior management and will supporting business strategy and objectives. The business has a young and vibrant culture working internationally across APAC, South Asia and even African regions.
Key Responsibilities of the Analyst:
- Combination of analyst and marketing role for palm oil, sugar and other soft commodity business
- Assist in developing the company's in-house supply, demand and price models across regional palm oil and other soft commodity business
- Gather statistics from various sources and maintain databases
- Interact with other members of the commercial team and business units to gather data inputs and discuss forecasts
- Develop contacts within the industry and develop network of information sources
Key Requirements of the Analyst:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent - relevant to the soft commodities industry preferred
- At least 1-2 years of experience in soft commodities (palm oil, sugar, rice or relevant commodities)
- Desire for long-term career advancement within a leading agricultural commodity trading company is necessary
- Good communication skills and logical problem solving skills
- Strong technical skills and a strategic mind-set with business acumen
- Excellent stakeholder management, and keen eye for detail
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and database management
- Based in Singapore
