About My Client:
My client is a leading Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance provider specializing in cannabis risk. They are committed to providing innovative and tailored solutions to meet the unique challenges within the cannabis industry. My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Marketing to join their team and play a key role in driving new business development, fostering strong relationships with clients and brokers, and collaborating closely with the underwriting team.

Position Overview:
As the Vice President of Marketing, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding the portfolio of cannabis-related risks. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities, establishing and nurturing relationships with clients and brokers, and working closely with the underwriting team to develop competitive marketing strategies. You will leverage your industry knowledge and expertise to position the company as a market leader in cannabis risk and build lasting partnerships in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Focus on generating new business opportunities in the cannabis insurance market by targeting potential clients and brokers, leveraging your industry connections and expertise in P&C insurance.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partners to drive customer retention and new business growth.
  • Collaboration with Underwriting Team: Work in tandem with the underwriting team to create competitive marketing materials and strategies that align with the company's risk appetite and business goals.
  • Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the company's cannabis insurance products and services to potential clients and brokers.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging risks, and competitors to continuously refine marketing tactics and ensure offerings remain competitive.
  • Sales and Production Support: Provide support to the sales team by developing marketing materials, pitches, and presentations to facilitate the acquisition of new business.
  • Brand Leadership: Position the company as a thought leader in the cannabis insurance space through thought-provoking content, industry events, and media engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of new business development or production underwriting experience within the P&C insurance industry, with a focus on cannabis risk preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the P&C insurance market and cannabis industry dynamics, including risks, regulatory considerations, and emerging trends.
  • Relationship Management: Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the company's goals and enhance market presence.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with underwriting, sales, and other departments to drive business growth.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.
