Our client, a leading insurance company based in Texas, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reserving Actuary with an ACAS designation. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of the company's insurance reserves, contributing to their financial stability and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quarterly Reserving: Utilize best estimate actuarial reserving techniques to prepare monthly program performance reports and quarterly actuarial reserve reports.
- Data Quality Assessment: Evaluate the quality of data available for reserving purposes and ensure appropriate methods and models are used in the calculation of technical provisions.
- Solvency Capital Requirement: Prepare reserving information for assessing the Solvency Capital Requirement.
- Forecasting and Planning: Assist in planning and forecasting activities to support business decision-making.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that actuarial policies, processes, and procedures meet regulatory requirements, including those under Solvency II.
- Internal Projects: Provide actuarial assistance on internal projects and initiatives as required.
- Communication: Effectively communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- ACAS Designation: Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in non-life insurance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in actuarial reserving techniques, including run-off triangles and chain ladders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Solvency II requirements.
- Familiarity with capital management and pricing.
