Overview:
Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading real estate investment, finance, and asset management firm that's seeking a Vice President to join its team. With over 250 professionals across many U.S. locations, the firm specializes in investment management, loan origination, asset management, and special servicing, overseeing more than $10 billion in assets under management and nearly $8 billion in equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the underwriting and evaluation of credit investment opportunities, including floating-rate loans, conduit loans, distressed debt, mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, and CMBS securities.
- Oversee financial modeling and analysis of property and loan cash flows using Excel and Argus.
- Develop and present investment recommendations to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
- Manage property-level due diligence, including broker communications, third-party reports, lease agreements, service contracts, and listing agreements.
- Drive loan closing processes and capital markets execution.
- Conduct in-depth market research and identify emerging trends across U.S. real estate markets.
- Lead property and site inspections, providing strategic insights into asset performance and risk assessment.
- Prepare and review comprehensive investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field from a top-tier university; an advanced degree (MBA or CFA) is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in real estate investment, credit underwriting, investment banking, or asset management.
- Expertise in financial modeling, structuring complex transactions, and evaluating real estate investments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Argus is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and investors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
